MU Online Guild System Guide – Create Guilds, Alliances & Wars

Guilds are one of the most important systems in MU Online. They create small communities of players who help each other level, share spots, join events and fight for Castle Siege. Some guilds are casual groups of friends, others are hardcore teams of high‑powered players.

This guide explains the Guild System for Season 20 & 21 style servers: how to create a guild, how guild capacity works (especially for Dark Lord), how to join and leave, and how alliances, hostility and guild wars work.

How to Create a Guild

Creating a guild is simple, but you must meet a few basic requirements before you can become a Guild Master.

Requirements

  • You must be at least Level 100 on your character.
  • Your guild name must be at least 4 characters long (no special symbols).
  • On EX700+ and most Season 20–21 servers, you must belong to a Gens family (Duprian or Vanert) to create a guild.
Tip: If the game tells you that you cannot create a guild even though you are level 100+, check if you have joined a Gens family at the Gens NPC in Lorencia or Devias.

Where to Create the Guild

To create a new guild, talk to the NPC Royal Guard Captain Lorence in Devias:

  • Map: Devias
  • Coordinates: (215, 45) (center of the town)

Lorence is the “Guild Minister” – he handles creation of official guilds for all classes.

Guild Creation Steps

When you talk to Royal Guard Captain Lorence, follow these steps:

  1. Step 1 – Create Guild
Choose the option to Create Guild from his menu.
    Create Guild menu step 1
  2. Step 2 – Enter Name & Create Logo
Type your desired guild name and then draw your Guild Logo (Mark).
Enter guild name and create logo
  3. Step 3 – Confirm Creation
Confirm your choices to complete the creation.
    Confirm guild creation screen

Once the guild is created, your character becomes the Guild Master, and the guild mark appears on your character’s arm. In Castle Siege, your guild mark can also appear on flags inside the castle.

Warning: Guild name and logo cannot be changed later using normal in‑game tools. Choose carefully before confirming.

Joining a Guild

To join an existing guild, you must receive an invitation from the Guild Master (or sometimes Battle Masters, depending on server settings).

Method 1 – Using the Command Window (D)

Open the Command Window by pressing D, select the Guild option, then move your cursor over the Guild Master and click to send a join request.

Joining a guild via command window

Method 2 – Using the /guild Command

  • To invite someone into your guild, type: /guild, then point your cursor over the player and click.
  • To join a guild, the Guild Master can type /guild and then click on your character.

Guild Menu (G)

Press G to open the Guild Window. Here you can:

  • See the list of guild members and their levels / classes.
  • Check alliances and hostile guilds.
  • Guild Master can promote members to Assistant Guild Master or Battle Master.
  • Guild Master can post guild notices using @ followed by the message.

Guild Capacity & Dark Lord Bonus

The number of members your guild can have depends on your character and, if you are a Dark Lord / Lord Emperor, also on your Command (COM) stat.

  • For normal classes (Blade Master, High Elf, Grand Master, Fist Master, Dimension Master, Duel Master, etc.), the maximum capacity is usually around 40 members on Season 20+ style servers.
  • For Dark Lord guild masters, you gain extra slots from:
    Guild Capacity = Level / 10 + Command / 10
Up to a maximum of around 80 members when fully leveled and with high Command.
Example: A Dark Lord Guild Master with Level 400 and 400 Command gets: 400 / 10 + 400 / 10 = 40 + 40 = 80 members max.

Leaving or Disbanding a Guild

There is an important difference between leaving a guild and disbanding it:

  • Leave (Member): If you are just a guild member, open the guild menu with G and press the Leave (or Withdraw) button to leave the guild.
  • Disband (Guild Master): If you are the Guild Master and you press Cancel / Disband in the guild window, the entire guild is dissolved and cannot be restored.
Warning: Only use the Cancel / Disband button if you truly want to delete the guild forever. This is permanent and also affects Castle Siege ownership if your guild owns a castle.

Quick Guild Commands

  • G – Open the guild window.
  • /guild – Invite a player to your guild (point cursor at them when using).
  • /war <GuildName> or /guildwar <GuildName> – Propose a Guild War duel.
  • /battlesoccer <GuildName> – Propose a Battle Soccer match.
  • @message – Guild Master can post guild news in the guild notice area.

Guild War (Guild Duel)

Guild Masters can challenge other guilds to a Guild War. This is a formal battle between two guilds where:

  • Command: /war <GuildName> or /guildwar <GuildName>.
  • When the other Guild Master accepts, members of both guilds can attack each other immediately.
  • Items do not drop when you die in a Guild War.
  • It’s a safe way to have large PvP fights between guilds.

If you do not want to receive Guild War or other requests, you can set Request Off in your options. This blocks incoming trade, party and guild requests until you switch back to Request On.

Guild Alliances

Guild alliances allow several guilds to work together – especially important for Castle Siege in Valley of Loren.

  • A guild can have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 allies.
  • One guild is chosen as the Main Guild, the others are Allied Guilds.
  • The Main Guild’s Guild Master becomes the Lord of the Castle when the alliance wins Castle Siege.
  • Allied guild names appear in green to show their alliance with you.

How to Form an Alliance

  1. Decide which guild will be the Main Guild.
  2. The secondary (ally) guild’s master uses the Guild Alliance option in the D command window.
  3. Move the cursor over the Main Guild’s master and click to send the alliance request.
  4. The Main Guild Master accepts the alliance.
Castle Siege Note: Only the Main Guild is considered the “castle owner” if the alliance wins, but allied guilds can help attack and defend, use some castle features and share rewards.

Guild Hostility (Enemy Guilds)

The Guild Hostility system lets you officially declare another guild as an enemy. When hostility is enabled:

  • Members of the hostile guild appear with a PK-style red name on your screen.
  • You can attack and kill them without getting PK penalties.
  • Defeating hostile guild members does not flag you as an outlaw.

This is useful for long‑term rivalries: for example, two guilds that keep fighting over spots or Castle Siege can declare hostility and freely PvP each other without worrying about PK status.

Guilds and Castle Siege

Guilds and alliances are the backbone of the Castle Siege event. To participate seriously, you need:

  • A Guild with a Guild Master of at least Level 200.
  • At least 20 members in your guild to register as an attacking or defending guild.
  • At least one allied guild to fully use castle features and defend it properly.
