MU Helper & Dark Knight Setup Guide (Season 18–21)

The MU Helper is an automatic hunting system built into MU Online. It lets your character attack monsters, use potions, cast buffs and pick up items even when you’re not clicking. For Season 18+ servers, MU Helper is also the base for Off-Level systems.

This guide explains:

  • How MU Helper works (stages, Zen cost, interface).
  • How to configure Hunting and Obtaining.
  • How to set up a strong Dark Knight MU Helper profile for PvE and AFK leveling.

1. MU Helper Interface & Basics

The MU Helper interface is located at the top-left of your game screen when it is active:

Its main parts are:

  • Settings button – opens the Helper settings (Hunting / Obtaining / Others).
  • Start/Stop button – turns MU Helper on or off.
  • Stage indicator – shows which helper Stage you are in.
  • Time bar – shows remaining time for the current Stage.
# Section Description
Setting button Setting up MU Helper Opens the Helper window where you can configure Hunting, Obtaining and other options.
Start/Stop button Start / End Starts or stops the Helper. You can also use the Home key to toggle it.
Stage indicator Helper Stage Shows which Stage (1–5) you are currently in.
Time bar Time Bar Displays how much time is left before the current Stage ends.
Hotkeys (may vary per server): common defaults are Home or middle mouse click to start/stop and Z to open settings.

2. MU Helper Requirements & Stages

2.1. Level Requirement

  • On older versions, MU Helper can be used from Level 80.
  • From eX701 and in most Season 18–21 servers, it can be used from Level 1.

2.2. Zen Consumption & Stages

MU Helper consumes Zen every 5 minutes of use. The amount of Zen depends on your level and the current Stage:

Stage Duration Zen Cost per 5 minutes
Stage 1 3 hours 20 minutes Level × 20
Stage 2 3 hours 20 minutes Level × 50
Stage 3 3 hours 20 minutes Level × 80
Stage 4 3 hours 20 minutes Level × 100
Stage 5 3 hours 20 minutes Level × 120

Important behaviour:

  • If you run out of Zen, MU Helper stops automatically.
  • After Stage 5 ends, MU Helper stops until you start it again.
  • If your character dies, MU Helper stops.
Tip: Always keep extra Zen in inventory before you go AFK or Off-Level, especially at high stages where Zen cost is higher.

3. Starting and Stopping MU Helper

You can start or stop MU Helper in two ways:

  • Click the MU Helper Start/Stop icon (often shown like a small play/pause button – Mu Helper start button).
  • Use the hotkey (usually Home on your keyboard).

When MU Helper starts, a circle appears around your character showing the attack range, and the Helper interface lights up at the top-left of the screen.

4. MU Helper – Dark Knight Hunting Settings

MU Helper Dark Knight hunting tab

The Hunting tab controls how your Dark Knight attacks monsters, uses potions, casts buffs and moves around the spot.

4.1. Range (Attack Range)

MU Helper range setting

Range sets how far from your character MU Helper will attack monsters.

  • Allowed values: 1 to 8.
  • For close‑combat DK, a range of 2–4 is usually ideal for stable spots.
  • Very high range makes your character chase monsters and can break party spots.

4.2. Recovery (Potions)

MU Helper potion setting

When you enable the Potion checkbox, MU Helper will automatically use HP potions.

  • Click Setting next to the Potion box.
  • Choose the HP percentage at which your character should drink a potion (for example, 60%).
  • You must have HP potions in your inventory for this to work.
Recommended DK: Set HP potion around 60–70% for safe AFK leveling in hard maps.

4.3. Mode Attack (Movement & Counter Attack)

MU Helper attack mode settings
  • Long-Distance Counter Attack
If a monster hits you from outside your set Range, your character will still counterattack it.
  • Use Skills Closely
Forces your character to step into melee range when using skills, even if the skill itself has long range.
  • Original Position
When enabled, your character tries to return to the position where MU Helper was first started.
  • Distance (seconds)
Sets how often (in seconds) your character should try to return to that original coordinate. Example: set 40 to return every 40 seconds.
Tip: For party spots, enable Original Position and set a Distance (30–60 seconds) so you don’t slowly drift away from the party.

4.4. Skills – Basic, Activation 1 & 2

MU Helper skill settings

Dark Knight can configure up to 3 attack skills for MU Helper:

  • Basic Skill – main skill used all the time.
  • Activation Skill 1 – extra skill used under certain conditions.
  • Activation Skill 2 – another conditional skill.

Basic Skill

Choose your main farming skill here. For DK, this is usually Twisting Slash or another AoE skill.

Activation Skill 1 & 2 – Delay / With / Pre-con / Sub-con

Both Activation skills share the same structure. Each has:

  • Delay – time in seconds before the skill is used again.
  • With – opens extra conditions (Pre-con & Sub-con).

When you tick Delay, you can set a timer (e.g. 3 seconds). When you tick With, you unlock:

Pre-con (Pre-Condition)
  • Monster Within Hunting Range – use this skill on monsters inside your Range.
  • Monster Attacking Me – use this skill only on monsters currently targeting you.
Sub-con (Sub-Condition – how many mobs)
  • More Than 2 Mobs – use the skill when there are 3+ monsters.
  • More Than 3 Mobs – use it when there are 4+ monsters.
  • More Than 4 Mobs – use it when there are 5+ monsters.
  • More Than 5 Mobs – use it when there are 6+ monsters.
Example DK setup:
Basic Skill = Twisting Slash (constant AoE).
Activation Skill 1 = Death Stab with condition “Monster Attacking Me + More than 2 mobs” for burst when surrounded.
Activation Skill 2 = Rageful Blow with a small Delay for extra AoE bursts.

4.5. Combo (Dark Knight Only)

If you enable the Combo checkbox, MU Helper will try to use the Dark Knight’s Combo Skill as the main attack sequence.

  • Set your 3 combo skills into the skill bar in the correct order.
  • Activate the Combo option in MU Helper.
  • MU Helper will then chain those skills as a combo during hunting.
Note: You must match all three skills in the correct order before turning Combo on, otherwise the combo will fail.

4.6. Buff Duration (Auto Buffs)

MU Helper buff duration settings

The Buff Duration box lets you assign up to 3 buff skills that will be automatically recast when they expire.

  • Turn on Buff Duration.
  • Drag your buff icons (e.g. Greater Fortitude) into the slots.
  • MU Helper will re‑cast them whenever their buff time runs out.

4.7. Function Extension (Helper Plus)

Function extension setting Function extension preview

Function Extension (sometimes called Helper Plus) is an extra feature available on some servers:

  • Increases attack range and item pickup range.
  • Usually purchased with Wcoins or premium currency in the Item Shop.
  • Not always active on every server; check your server’s info page.

4.8. Close, Initialization & Save Setting

  • Close button Close – closes the MU Helper configuration window.
  • Initialization button Initialization – resets all MU Helper settings back to default.
  • Save button Save Setting – saves your current configuration.
Important: MU Helper does not auto‑save changes on all servers. After every change, click Save Setting or your new configuration may be lost.

5. MU Helper – Dark Knight Obtaining Settings

MU Helper Dark Knight obtaining tab

The Obtaining tab controls item pickup, auto repair and item filtering for your Dark Knight.

5.1. Range (Pickup Range)

Range setting for pickup

This Range is separate from attack range – it controls how far away MU Helper will pick up items.

  • Values: 1 to 8.
  • A Range of 3–4 is usually enough for most spots.

5.2. Repair (Auto Repair Equipment)

Automatic repair setting

When you enable Repair, MU Helper will automatically repair your equipped items.

  • Requires enough Zen in your inventory.
  • On many servers, repair via Helper can cost slightly more than using a blacksmith NPC.

5.3. Pick All Items

Pick all items checkbox

The Pick All Items checkbox tells MU Helper to pick up everything in range.

  • Good for early leveling when you need any items and Zen.
  • Later in the game this can quickly fill your inventory with junk items.
Tip: At high levels it’s usually better to disable “Pick All Items” and use “Pick Selected Items” instead, to only pick jewels, boxes and valuable gear.

5.4. Pick Selected Items

When you enable Pick Selected Items, MU Helper only collects items that match the filters you choose.

Typically you can select categories like:

  • Zen
  • Jewels (Bless, Soul, Chaos, Life, Creation, etc.)
  • Excellent items
  • Ancient / Set items
  • Event items / Boxes (Box of Kundun, Golden Apple, etc.)
  • Scrolls / Orbs / Misc.

There is usually also an Add Extra Item or similar button where you can type the exact name of rare items (e.g. Flame of Condor, Feather of Condor, Bless of Guardian) and add them to a custom pickup list. Only a limited number (often up to 13) of extra items can be stored.

Recommended DK pickup:
– Pick Selected Items ON
– Jewels, Zen, Excellent, Event/Boxes checked
– Repair ON
– Extra list: Flames, Feathers, high-level Mastery mats, important quest items.

7. Final Notes

MU Helper is one of the most powerful tools in MU Online for both AFK leveling and regular grinding. When properly configured, a Dark Knight with MU Helper can hold spots, auto‑buff and clean up items for hours without manual input – as long as Zen and potions last.

Use this guide as a base configuration, then tweak your Range, skills and item filters for your specific server and maps. Don’t forget to Save Setting every time and always keep some extra Zen ready before you walk away from your keyboard.
