MU Online is a free Windows PC game, and the MUOnline.ai private-server client is free too. Pick the Google Drive, Mega or MediaFire mirror, unzip MuAI-Install.zip, let the launcher patch, then log in and choose the Permanent Realm (5000x EXP) or Speed Realm Autumn Edition (99,999x EXP).
It runs on Windows 10 and 11. There is no Mac, Linux or mobile version.

Recommended for Castle Siege and crowded maps
The recommended specs matter most when many players share one screen, such as the server's 60-minute Castle Siege stage (Saturday 21:00-22:00 UTC) and busy events.
Can a low-end PC run MU Online?
In game, Shift + a number key (for example Shift + 0) turns some graphics on or off to reduce lag. Windowed mode, a lower resolution and closing overlay apps also help. There is no Mac or Linux build, and Wine or Proton setups are not supported.
How to install MU Online in 4 steps
- Download and unzip MuAI-Install.zip to a simple folder such as C:\MU.
- Run the installer, then launcher.exe and let it patch. The launcher fetches only the newest patches, so a client from any mirror ends up current.
- If Windows SmartScreen appears: More info, then Run anyway. The installer is unsigned and still building reputation in Windows; the screenshots above show where to click.
- Log in with your web account and choose a realm.

MU Online not launching on Windows 10 or 11? Fixes that work
'Windows protected your PC' (SmartScreen)
- Click More info, then Run anyway. Still blocked? Unblock the file (next fix).
'The operation was cancelled by the user' or main.exe / launcher.exe blocked
- Run it as administrator.
- Move the MU folder to a simple path such as C:\MU.
- Right-click main.exe and launcher.exe, open Properties and tick Unblock.
- Check Windows Security, Protection history.
Antivirus quarantined main.exe or launcher.exe
- Restore the file, but only if it came from MuAI-Install.zip on this page.
- Add the game folder to your antivirus exclusions, or do a clean reinstall.

- Close the game and every launcher process in Task Manager, then start launcher.exe again so all files patch.

Is it safe to download a private-server client?
What is in the download
MuAI-Install.zip holds the launcher, the auto-updater and the game folder. Download it only from the three mirrors on this page; re-uploads elsewhere are not ours. A new anti-hack system was introduced with the March 2026 server merge.
How to check the file
When a SHA-256 checksum is published next to the mirrors, run certutil -hashfile MuAI-Install.zip SHA256 in Command Prompt and compare the two values. SmartScreen and some antivirus engines flag unsigned launchers by reputation, so the mirror and the checksum are what to check.

The installer and launcher never ask for your account password.

Create your free account, then pick a class, check event times in UTC and CEST, and find Discord, voting and daily rewards on the Community page.

MU Online download FAQ
Is MU Online available on PC?
Yes. MU Online is a Windows PC game, and the MUOnline.ai client runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). There is no Mac, Linux, Android or iOS version, and MU Origin, MU Immortal and MU: Dark Epoch are separate Webzen games.
How big is the MU Online download?
The full client is one zip file, MuAI-Install.zip; each mirror shows its size before you confirm. After the first install the launcher downloads only new patches.
What are the minimum system requirements for MU Online?
Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5 or equivalent, 8 GB RAM and a 3D card with 256 MB VRAM. For Castle Siege and crowded maps, Windows 11, a Core i7-class CPU, 16 GB RAM and a 1 GB dedicated GPU are recommended.
Why does Windows say 'Windows protected your PC' when I run the installer?
SmartScreen shows it for unsigned installers it has not seen often, which is normal for private-server clients. Click More info, then Run anyway; if it stays blocked, open Properties on main.exe or launcher.exe and tick Unblock.
MU Online will not start on Windows 11. What do I do?
Run it as administrator, move the MU folder to C:\MU and unblock main.exe and launcher.exe. If your antivirus removed a file, restore it, exclude the game folder and run launcher.exe again. More in the full fix guide.
Is MU Online on Steam, or do I need Webzen's client?
No to both. MU Online is not on Steam; Webzen's Steam games are MU Legend: EVO and MU: Dark Epoch. Webzen's official client only connects to Webzen's servers, so to play here you need the client from this page.
Is there a MU Online mobile or Android version?
Not for this server. MUOnline.ai is PC only, on Windows 10 and 11. Webzen's mobile games such as MU Origin and MU Immortal are different games with different accounts and cannot connect here.
Which realm should I choose after installing?
The Permanent Realm (5000x EXP, 60,000 max stats) for a main character and long-term progress. The Speed Realm Autumn Edition (99,999x EXP, live since 2 October 2026) for a fast season of a few weeks, with 2 characters exportable to the Permanent Realm afterwards. Compare both on the realm page.
